Defence tenders in the Nordics and the Baltics
As defence spending rises across the Baltics, the Nordics and Germany, procurement grows not only for weapons but also for clothing, electronics, military construction, fire-fighting and security equipment. MarketScope collects these tenders from TED, Doffin, Hilma and the German portal and follows defence agencies and industry news in eight languages.
What we monitor
Defence procurement surfaces in different ways: some on TED and national portals, some only through agency announcements or the trade press once a contract is signed. The pack therefore combines tender notices with defence agency and industry news, so you see both open competitions and awarded contracts whose winners will need subcontractors.
Defence and security equipment
The whole CPV 35 group: uniforms and personal equipment, military vehicles, vessels, aircraft and drones, electronics and communications, police equipment. Scoring assigns each notice to an equipment type.
Military construction and maintenance
Construction of barracks, training areas and other defence and security facilities (CPV 45216), and repair and maintenance of defence equipment (CPV 506).
Fire, rescue and security equipment
Fire engines, rescue equipment, video surveillance, access control and perimeter security, plus civil protection and shelter projects.
Buyers, budgets and industry
The Lithuanian Ministry of National Defence and Armed Forces, FMV, Forsvarsmateriell, Forsvarsbygg, Puolustusvoimien logistiikkalaitos, BAAINBw, RKIK and NSPA are tracked as buyers, and defence industry news shows who is winning contracts.
The ready-made defence and security pack
The pack follows TED contract notices, prior information notices and award notices in ten countries – Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Germany, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Poland – plus Doffin, Hilma and oeffentlichevergabe.de. For news it uses 30 sources: the Lithuanian Ministry of National Defence, Defense News, Defence Industry Europe, Naval News, European Defence Review, hartpunkt, Europäische Sicherheit & Technik, Officerstidningen, ERR News, Lithuanian business media and Google News queries on FMV, Forsvarsmateriell, Puolustusvoimat and Latvia's VALIC.
Six rules separate defence procurement and contracts, defence agencies, military infrastructure, fire and rescue equipment, security systems and civil protection, and defence budgets and industry. Scoring ranks Lithuania first, followed by the Nordics and Germany, and gives the most weight to security systems, fire-fighting equipment and military construction. You can re-weight it around your own products.
